Themed chess sets are the perfect way to express your love of a special interest, be it a hobby, profession, favorite author or historical era, and you love of chess at the same time. They are also a great way to compliment the theme of your home decor, and of course they make the perfect gift.
Note that, unless otherwise stated, the themed chess pieces offered here do no include chess boards. When you select a set of pieces that interest you you'll be directed to a page where you will typically have the opportunity to choose one of several suitable boards to go with your chess set. We find themed chess sets often pair well with boards that offer built-in storage, but this does not suit everyone's needs. For those who prefer a simple solid board the classic Walnut / Maple boards from Drueke are a fine choice for almost any of these themed chessmen and are available a range of sizes to ensure there is one that will pair up perfectly with anything offered here.
